I realize I am not going to make everyone happy but it clearly states (if you read the blog) that you need to include you're name. Anonymous blogs, positive or negative can not be used. I fish the Owyhee river a few times a year, with bait, because I do not know how to fly fish nor intend to learn. I think it is a stretch to negate the people that do, if you want to change how people fish, as far as barbless, no treble hooks so be it. But to completely cut off the people that bait fish is wrong. If you want to close the river down for three months, and this will help the fish and keep the fly fisherman from stomping around, then good.
Also, we have all seen that the Brown Trout have been a success in the River, one other suggestion would be to plant some of those fish in the Malheur River, as was done with the Owyhee. This would give all fisherman another option to fish, making it two places is better than one. Giving any fisherman the option, local or not.
